Sydney Windows and Doors with Screens

Window screens are primarily used for covering the opening of a window. Window screens are usually made out of aluminium, fiberglass, or other synthetic fiber, metal wire, nylon or polyester stretched and fitted into a frame of metal or wood. The main objective of a window screen is to keep away insects, birds, leaves, animals, and debris from entering a building while allowing the flow of fresh air.

Some other uses of window screens are to prevent young children from falling out of windows and prevent intruders from entering the building. Window screens also reduce bright sunlight and heat in hot climates reducing cooling costs and prevent damage to furnishings.

Screen doors are doors with a screen mesh quite similar to a window screen and serve some similar purposes. It is attached in front of an existing entry door and doesn’t require heavy-duty hardware for installation. There are a wide variety of screen doors available hinged doors being the most common. Other varieties include sliding screen doors, retractable screen doors. All types of screen doors have handles and latches and come with a locking mechanism however they should not be used as a primary source of door security.
